I’ve never been a powder fan due to my nasty dry skin. Even a swish of powder leaves me looking scaly and lizard like. However as I have gotten ‘just a little older’ my dark circles have needed a lot more attention than they used to. I find even the best concealers wear off in just a few hours if I don’t set them properly. Never a fan of the thick yellowy powders that always seem to be promoted with concealers, Bobby Brown I’m looking at you. I’ve been on the hunt for an amazing powder that will photograph well.
Enter Hourglass, sigh! Their Ambient Lighting powders are a thing of beauty. The first time I clapped eyes on them I just stood back and marvelled. Unfortunately unless you are in London and can get yourself down to Liberty’s or Space.NK then you’ll have to settle for picking them up online. Don’t panic though because you seriously cannot go wrong, they are in.cred.ible!
A wardrobe of six universal finishing powders that recreate the most exquisitely flattering light—from ethereal moonlight to luminous candlelight. Each powder captures, diffuses and softens surrounding light with groundbreaking photoluminescent technology. Available in 6 shades.
K then lovelies which shade should you go for? Well really that is an individual choice. You see the six shades available are so multi functional you can put them to good use in loads of different ways. Today I wanted to chat to you about Ethereal Light. Now let me start by telling you that this isn’t my absolute fave of the six powders buuuuut, it is by far the most versatile for my beyond light skin tone.
Ethereal Light – Opalescent sheer, cool white powder that mimics a moonlit glow, even in broad daylight.
After I’m done popping concealer under my eyes, I pat this over and maaaaaan the results are incredible! I’m left with a gorgeous bright but soft finish. Also if I’m going for a heavily contoured look I set it with this and honestly it looks like I’ve been airbrushed! For those of you with a darker skin tone than myself you could use this to set your concealer, contouring, even as a base for your highlighter.
As I said it may not be my absolute fave of the six but it sure does get a lot of love. If you are wondering what my fave is, it’s most definitely Dim Light! When I have a bit of colour in my cheeks or have applied my tan then this looks the absolute biz.
So guys here endeth my review. Have any of you tried the Ambient Lighting powders? If so which are your faves? I’ll be popping up a review of some of the others soon so keep your eyes peeled.
PEACE & LOVE
