Glossybox Review: May 2014

Hmmmmm not a great box this month Glossy! The theme seems to be ‘Summer Beauty Edit’ which is celebrating 50 years of Superdrug. Don’t get me wrong I kinda like what I was sent but…one of my items is missing…not good Glossy!

Max Factor Facefully All Day Primer – Unfortunately I didn’t receive this item…not too impressed Glossybox!

Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara – This is a a product we’ve all tried at some time, right?! I mean it’s been around soooooo long and is definitely a cult product. Now I originally tried this when I was starting out with makeup so really was a total novice. I’m happy Glossy included it so I can put it to the test again, watch this space…

GOSH Cosmetics Velvet Touch Eyeliner – Apparently smudge proof and blendable, I’ll definitely be packing this for my travels and putting it to the test. I got a lovely lilac colour which I’m obvs made up about, you know me and my pastel obsession!

B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick – I’m not sure how I feel about this lippy. I mean it looks promising, enriched with shea butter and aloe vera the formula seems gorgeous. The colour however…Glossy couldn’t you have sent us a lovely coral or orange? I mean this lack-lustre brown is a bit to winter(ish) for me!

Vaseline Spray and Go Coco – Cocoa butter, spray moisturiser…amazing! I love this product, alright it’s not the most intense moisturiser but for summer when you just want a light moisturiser this is perfect. It’s so easy to use and smells divine, I will definitely be repurchasing.

Bonus Items

Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion and GHOST Fragrances Eclipse – When I originally opened my box and saw these two I was a little cross. I’m kind of sick of getting little sachets or tester perfume samples in my Glossybox. I can get these free from magazines, shops, online, anytime. After reading through my product list I realised that I actually was missing an item so these were bonus items. That’s fantastic, include them as a little extra but definitely not as part of the five items!

What about you guys, did you get the same or different? Also did you get your Max Factor Primer? I’m gutted mine was left out. Hopefully after I contact them they will send one out to me?!

  1. Your box is much better then mine. I’d of rather had some of my items missing… I put up a post with what I received. So glad I used my dots for this one x

    • I just read your review and oh dear…a black donut for blonde hair???! Your box did seem quite crappy I must admit. I keep thinking two more boxes and then I’ll cancel but they always pull it back. I’ve decided to start pulling them up on their crappy boxes now. However if they don’t replace my item or give me crap customer service again I’ll be cancelling for sure! xx

      • In crap at styling my hair so it’s pretty useless to me. I don’t have the patients for it and I have layered hair so I doubt it would even stay in. I keep saying that too! I’ve recently signed up to Birchbox and I’m waiting for my May box which I’m excited about!

      • Glossybox seems more high street now, which i wouldn’t mind if there were still luxury brands that I can try. Seems like it’s the same names over and over. At least with Birchbox (from what I’ve heard) it’s mostly samples but usually luxury brands.

      • Yeah that’s very true. I only stopped Birchbox as they don’t have a good beauty profile option and I couldn’t list sensitive skin. I kept getting skin care I couldn’t use. Their box is lovely though x
