Dita Dupes

One thing I absolutely adore is a great pair of sunglasses. I’m very lucky that each time we go away my Ché tends to treat me to a new pair. When we were in the States last he spent ages scouring the shops with me so I could find the perfect pair. God love him, he walked the length and breadth of Vegas with me searching for my dream sunnies :O)

In the end I decided on these Dita offerings. Now I am aware that massive bug-like glasses are not everyone’s cup of tea but I love them! Not only because they were a gift from Ché, but also because they are so different and individual. If you have never heard of Dita they are a company based out in LA, set up in 1995 they are a vintage inspired eyewear company. Here’s what they say:

“Utilizing modern materials and shapes, Dita’s designs distinguish themselves with quality, look and fit. Dita was envisioned as an alternative to label branded eyewear. Dita’s logo details are intentionally subtle so that the frame itself defines the look rather than the logo. This allows the design of the frame to complement features of the wearer and contribute to their overall style.”

Every celeb worth their salt has been seen rocking the Dita’s, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Scherzinger, Beyoncé, even David Beckham has been getting in on the act! People ask me all the time where mine are from and when I tell them Dita they just look blankly back at me, haaaaaa.

Due to the fact that Dita’s aren’t easy to get hold of in the UK and may also be a little pricy for some people, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for an alternative for ages. Last week I was pleasantly surprised to see a great dupe in NEXT of all places. Now they aren’t a perfect match but they definitely look Dita inspired, if you’re on a budget and looking for something different or vintage inspired they are a great option. Take a look…

They come in a few different pastel shades, including a duck egg(ish) blue similar to mine. Seriously for £15 you can’t go wrong :O)

  1. I have never heard of Dita either, but yours are lovely. I’m obsessed with duck egg blue at the moment so they’re two thumbs up from me. I love sunnies, but I’m always so scared to take my expensive ones out in case I sit on them. So I’m always looking for some cheapies that you can chuck around a bit. The River Island ones are quite good for their price too. My Accessorize ones scratched pretty easily but my RI’s have been around for years. Nice discovery, Sonya. Rosemary x

    • Thanks Rosemary I agree, I think RI are defo the best budget brand sunnies. When you get expensive ones though you do tend to take loads better care of them xx
