Any of you that read my previous post will be aware that I was massively excited to try the oil cleansing method (OCM). Looking for a solution to overly sensitive and dry skin is not easy, and don’t even get me started on my pores! When I read other people’s reviews that boasted the amazing effects of oil cleansing and massaging I was eager to have a go. As I mentioned previously you can use a multitude of natural oils for the job. I decided to go with a concoction of coconut and olive oil as endorsed by Lauren Conrad.
So then what’s my verdict? I’m not a fan…ooooh controversial I know, but I have to be 100% honest. Now its not all bad, I love the texture and gentleness of oil cleansing, it does seem to get all the impurities out and I had no sensitivity issues at all. You may be wondering what my problem is then! Dryness!! Oh lordy my face got good and dry, not just a little bit…a lot! I literally looked like a snake shedding it’s skin. Now I am aware that this is probably just down to the annoyingness that is my skin and there may be other oils more suited to me.
All in all I would recommend this type of cleansing, it’s easy, effective and best of all cheap. I do think that it’s massively important to find the best kind of oil for you, one kind does not suit all skin types! As for me I’m still on the hunt, but in all honesty I think I’ll stick with my Angels on Bare Skin face wash from LUSH. As soon as I started using this again my dryness resolved.
What about you guys, have you tried it? If so what are your thoughts? Also if any of you have any tips on better oils for dry skin I’d love to hear them.
PEACE & LOVE
