That’s right you read that correctly, you can actually get one of Vogue’s ‘IT’ products for less than £30!! You may have seen my post on the Vogue/Dior event I attended last week. To quickly recap there was a live makeup demo by Dior’s international makeup artist Jamie Coombes, and a presentation by Vogue’s Jessica Hogan and Virginia Chadwyck-Healey. So after getting a bunch of straight of the catwalk makeup tips from Jamie, we get to the bit where the Vogue girlies tell us what they deem the best products of the season. Now I’m not gonna lie when asked what three Dior products they would recommend I was expecting them to tout the most expensive stuff. However this was not the case, one product they were loving was Dior’s Glow Maximizer.
A very ‘convenient’ tube was luckily on hand to be passed around. I squirted the obligatory swatch on the back of my hand and again to be totally honest, I was not expecting to see much but another primer. I stand completely corrected however, this stuff is beautiful. Shimmery and luminous like a highlighter but with the properties of a primer…genius!
…and you know, they’re not lying! This stuff is amazing, especially in this new era of applying your skin preps over your makeup. Yep that’s right, anyone who’s anyone in the makeup industry is telling you to get those primers back out when you’ve finished your makeup and dapple them on your cheekbones! It’s all about perfect skin this year and enhancing the complexion so your makeup doesn’t have to work as hard. I’ll be doing a separate post on this later in the week, but for now just believe Vogue are not lying, this amazing primer is the best I have ever come across!
If you want to use it traditionally you can apply it pre foundation to prep your skin. I however like to mix it with my non Luminous Silk foundation to get a radiant finish. Then I dapple a little where I would traditionally apply my highlighter for a beautiful dewy/pearly finish.
You get 30ml in each tube and to be honest I was expecting them to tell me it was around £79 like Dreamskin. You can imagine my excitement then when I realised it was actually only £28.50. I mean yes this is still a good chunk of change to part with but, for a Dior product that is amazing as this it’s actually pretty reasonable. Word on the street is that Dior are planning a new powder highlighter too, I cannot wait to see it!
PEACE & LOVE
