FOTD – Day to Evening – Blue & Gold Eye

If you’ve been watching any of the recent catwalk shows, or been reading any of the many fashion magazines you’ll surely have noticed a push towards contrasting eye colours, the biggest being blue and gold. Now if you’re planning on trying this look I think you need to tread carefully, get too carried away and you may end up channeling your inner Nicki Minaj! Personally I have had difficulty with the blue trend, memories of the 80’s and my mocking my Mother for her blue mascara have certainly come back to bite me on the ass! Now I’m rocking the blue look all the time. The fact that it can be watered down with a splash a gold however is music to my ears. Over the last few days I’ve been playing around with blue/gold eye looks…what do you think?

Both of the looks are pretty much the same. I used my Urban Decay Vice Palette, mixed Dope, Strike and Toxic on the upper lid. I also put some Half Baked mixed with Sin (from the NAKED palette) on the inner corner of my eye. I then lined my bottom eye with Madness. The only difference is for the evening look I mixed Madness and Prank and lined the whole eye, then added some lashes.

For my base I went for Armani Luminous Silk in the evening look and Bourjois CC Cream in the day look. I used NARS Laguna bronzer and NARS Deep Throat blush in both looks. I then highlighted with Dior Glow Maximiser (review coming soon) in both looks. The lips I kept simple by dappling on M.A.C. Girl about town in the evening look and NARS Holiday in the day look.

I was so busy trying to perfect the look last night I totally forgot to do an OOTD picture…whoops. Never mind, as it’s my birthday celebrations this week I’m sure they’ll be plenty of dressing up going on and I can catch a few OOTD’s!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, I’m off to do the ironing…boooooo…

PEACE & LOVE
