Lately I’ve been loving lip pencils/crayons. They’re as easy to apply as a gloss and can be as long lasting as a lipstick or stain. So many companies have been launching their own versions recently there’s loads to choose from. Being a huge fan of NYX glosses I thought it would be silly not to try their jumbo lip pencils. I have tried six in various shades, have a little look.
Shades left to right: 703 Pink Nude, 730 Almond, 716 Pink Brown, 722 Hera, 704 Hot Red, 715 Burgundy
Verdict – With the exception of Almond the colours are beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s just that Almond doesn’t suit me or if it’s just a yuk colour? Anyhow it reminds me of 1950’s tan tights…nasty. Apart from that one shade the other 5 are just gorgeous. Very pigmented, easy to apply and have great lasting power. The packaging is great and at £5.00 they’re a bargain. I only have one complaint…what’s with the gross taste NYX? They taste really chemically and sort of plastic-y. Now this is unusual for NYX, their lip products usually have a lovely taste. I actually thought maybe there was something wrong with the first one I opened but they all taste eqaully as gross…sort it out NYX!
Despite the taste I would recommend these pencils. They really are beautifully pigmented and go on lovely. Not to mention for £5.00 they’re a bargain! TOP TIP – NYX currently have a few of their jumbo lip pencils in the sale for £3.00.
PEACE & LOVE
