This week is a special one over here at glam towers. Myself and my lovely Ché are celebrating 10 years together. It’s quite scary how fast that time has flown by, life really goes by in a minute…especially when you’re having so much fun!
Last night I was invited to The Empty Shop closing party in Manchester City Centre. Being originally from Manchester but now living out in Cheshire I never feel like I can get down to my home town enough. Anyhow…we decided to drop by the party to say hello and then go on to The Northern Quarter for some food and drinks.
If any of you are planning a little jaunt down to Manchester then I advise you to check out it’s Northern Quarter. Day or night it has loads of amazing places to chill, dance, drink or eat…whatever your flavour it has something for everyone!
We started the evening at The Black Dog Ballroom NWS on the other side of town. After saying a quick hello and well done to the Empty Shop team we then headed over to LUCK LUST LIQUOR and BURN. LLLB is a Mexican restaurant inspired by an American road trip the founders took a few years back. In all honesty it is the best Mexican food I have ever had this side of the Atlantic.
LLLB not only has good food and quick and friendly service but also amazing tunes! My South Central Enchilada was so huuuuuge that I had to take half of it home!
After stuffing our faces…special night people…we had a walk down to Home Sweet Home for dessert. Now because I was driving I couldn’t indulge in the amazing looking cocktail menu which I hear has been put together by the Socio Rehab guys. For those of you that never went to Socio Rehab it was the best cocktail bar in the City. Unfortunately after almost 10 years of amazing cocktail making it closed it’s doors last month…sob!
Home Sweet Home offers an amazing looking menu, especially for breakfast…yum! We decided to share a Cookie Monster shake and Green Tea and Pistachio cake and I have to admit that it was the nicest shake and cake I’ve had in Manchester…Teacup you’ve been beaten!
So that was my lovely date with my lovely Ché. No date post would be complete without and OOTD and FOTD would it?!
Outfit wise I went for my black PU trousers, oversized black and white/zip detail t-shirt, nude brogues, oversized black jacket and Michael Kors watch and bag. For my makeup I went for a simple nude eye and cat flick with a pink lip.
So that about rounds this post up guys, check the links below for some of the other cool hangouts in Manchester’s NQ. Definitely check them out if you’re in town guys!
Teacup at Thomas Street, The Blue Pig, Solita, Almost Famous Burger, Walrus and Tusk.
PEACE & LOVE
