The Free(ish) M.A.C. Makeover

Happy Saturday people, I hope you have lots of nice things planned for the weekend ahead. I’m up early today doing some work on my new layout, hopefully it’ll be ready for me to share with you guys soon. Also as you may have noticed Once Upon a Glam is now a .com! OH YEAH!

Knowing I had a busy work filled weekend ahead I decided to have a little pamper sesh yesterday. I had to get a new liquid liner from M.A.C. and also needed a girl about town…love that name…lipstick. Soooooo as some of you may know you can have a full – 1 hour or express – 30 minute makeover at M.A.C. for £20. Now this is fully redeemable against any products you want!

Any of you that shop at M.A.C. regularly will know it can be mega hectic so getting a makeup advisor to help you can be difficult. Combine this with all the choice they have and it can be almost impossible to find exactly what you want. My advice…plan ahead and book an appointment with one of the lovely makeup artists for 30 minutes to an hour. This way you have someone’s undivided attention to talk through the products, makeup tips and what will suit you! Time this before a day or night out and you have successfully gotten ready whilst shopping…is there any better way to do that?

Yesterday I had an express 30 minute appointment that focusses on one area. I chose to have a smoky eye applied by the lovely Amy who was nice to talk too and made the appointment even more enjoyable.

I view M.A.C. makeovers one of two ways:

  1. I need new or replacement M.A.C. products and want to speak with their makeup artists without the hassle so I book in for a free(ish) makeover.
  2. I want a day off doing my own makeup so want a makeover that I’m happy to pay £20 for…plus I get to walk away with £20 worth of products to boot!

Whichever way you look at it if you are planning on shopping at M.A.C. think smart and book in and have yourself a little pamper! Book early though guys because they fill those appointments…rapid!

Product wise I decided to stick to my shopping list and went for:

Girl about town – from the amplified lipstick range, this is the perfect all rounder for days you want to give your lips a little ooooumph! Hmmmm maybe I should’ve picked up the nail polish too…?

Fluidline Blacktrack Eye-Liner Gel – I’m still on the hunt for a perfect liquid(ish) eyeliner so thought I’d give fluidline another go. I much prefer gel eyeliners as I like applying mine with a brush and find them more workable. I’ll be trying this out with my new Japonesque angle liner brush so look out for a review.

Happy Saturday lovelies…
