Red Carpet Report…National TV Awards 2014

Oh dear, oh dear, apart from the odd exception tonight was not a night that did British fashion proud! The NTA’s red carpet is renowned for the mix bag of shall we say…taste and tonight was no different! Blue seemed to be the colour of choice for the male celebrities, where as the ladies options were truly all over the place. Lets get into it shall we?

BOYS: Worst Dressed

First up is Spencer Matthews, in a shiny blue tux, leopard print loafers and a wonky bow tie…no…just no! Secondly and I hate to do this we have Ray Quinn…just not good on too many levels, I love you on DOI though Ray!

What was the dealio with all the terrible blue and black combo’s? Both Craig Revel Horwood and Kian Egan were offenders in this category.

Now boys if you want to know how to do a blue suit properly look at the perfection that is Bruno Tonioili

BOYS: Kinda hmmmmmm!

I’m not sure if it’s the play it safe suit or the clunky shoes but there’s something off about Andy Peter’s ensemble. As for Joey Essex’s outfit I am pretty sure it’s the unflattering fit and glasses that are ruining this look for me.

BOYS: Best dressed

Let’s be thankful people as it wasn’t all bad in the male category, some of them did good…real good!

I mean… So,so perfect on every level, I can’t decide who’s suit I loved more Matt Johnson’s or Jeff Brazier’s?

Saving the red carpet Mr Nick Grimshaw sported a fabulously unconventional get up that works sooooo well and shows everyone why he is the ambassador of The London Collections: Men…yeah boi!

Couples who put if doooown!

So lets have us a little look at a couple of couples who made us stop and stare…all mouth agag…wishing we were them!

Abbey Clancy and her Strictly dance partner Aljaž Skorjanec are too perfect for words. Abbey’s dress is just so…and Aljaž’ suit…I mean…literally lost for words!

Michelle Keegan and her beau Mark Wright were also the image of perfection tonight. Michelle’s dress was almost a neon version of Abbey’s and I have to hand it to her she pulled it off just as well as the model. She looks so good it’s no wonder Mark wants to marry the corrie star…hurry on and set a date guys!National Television Awards 2014 - Arrivals - London

GIRLS: Worst dressed

Right people brace yourselves, it’s time to have a look at some of the ladies outfits. I’m not going to lie it was bad…I mean beyond bad! There were actually too many to write up so I’m going to go with my worst offenders.

Oh I feel so bad because I love her but as sweet as Natalie Cassidy looks, her outfit was more like she’s going down the local supermarket than to an awards ceremony…mix it up girl!

Then there was Jennifer Metcalfe in this frock horror and Kimberly Wyatt whose fashion forward attempt fell flat on it’s sci-fi face…I give the girl props for stepping out of her comfort zone though!

Oh girls I know they say if you’ve got it flaunt it but…cover your dignity…please! Rachel Wilde was almost the number one offender in the letting it all hang out category until poor Kelly Brook stepped out in this dreadful sheer black dress. Maybe we should forgive her though because she really was a victim of the flashbulbs!

GIRLS: Above the knee beauties

Jodie Whittaker, Hetti Bywater, Olivia Coleman and Caroline Flack all looked equally amazing in their above the knee ensembles…bonus points for braving the cold girlies!

GIRLS: The best dressed

Fearne Cotton looked divine in this modern Gatsby inspired look

Jacqueline Jossa however…can you say perfection?! She definitely would have been my best dressed winner if it wasn’t for…

Laura Whitmore…perfect hair, perfect makeup, gorgeous court shoes, minimal accessories and don’t even get me started on the perfection that is that hi-low/midriff bearing dress…100% best dressed by far!

Best Hair & Makeup

Rochelle Humes and Georgia May Foot both went for the hollywood bombshell look but in a very different way. Where as Rochelle kept it classical, Georgia put a vampish spin on it and looked smoking as a result.

There we have it my lovelies,  my verdict of the best and worst of tonights red carpet…well apart from the Valley’s girls but I haven’t got the energy to comment on their boob baring outfits. What did you guys think? Do you agree or disagree with my choices? As always leave me a comment I love to hear your thoughts.
