Under the Spotlight – Shu Uemura’s S Curlers

Image

As you all know the original Shu Uemura curlers are one of my cult classicsYou may also know that straight lashes are the bane of my beauty routine. I spend so much time trying to get my lashes to stay curled it’s a bit of a joke really.

So you can only imagine my excitement when I heard the daddy of the eyelash world had a new offering…oh the anticipation! Upon seeing Shu Uemura’s S Curlers for the first time I was quite shocked…what in the hell? I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this.

Small and even more torture device looking than ‘normal’ curlers I was not sure I even wanted to experiment with them. However in the pursuit of beauty I very quickly overcame my reservations and eye phobia…oh the irony of a beauty addict having an eye phobia right?!

These little guys are actually very, very handy. You see I have quite large eyes and due to the shape I struggle to get all my lashes in any curlers without accidently pinching my lids. My biggest problem area is the outer corners of my eye, I always inadvertently curl some of my bottom lashes.

That’s where the s curlers can be of great help. As opposed to standard curlers that have closed sides the s curlers are completely open and can fit into little areas without pinching or catching your bottom lashes. Now I wouldn’t be able to curl all my lashes with these but to catch a few straight hairs or for a little touch up they are brilliant. They can even be used over falsies…what the hell did I ever do without them?
