Since watching American Hustle last night I have developed a slight obsession with Amy Adam’s 70’s look! That’s right people you can forget all about your Gatsby looks because it’s all about 70’s disco now! If my Mother is reading this she is so gonna give me stick for rocking the blue eye shadow, I should never have tormented her for wearing it …sorry Ma x
But I must be forgiven because after seeing how incredible Amy looks in the film I couldn’t help but have a little play at creating an up to date version of her 70’s glam. Now these pictures are not the best lighting as I was playing around this evening and there was no natural light but I’m sure you get the general idea.
For my eyes I went for a strong silver/blue look using M.A.C. Melt my Heart in the inner corners of my eyes and covered it with Illamasqua’s pure pigment in Beguile. For the outer corners I went for Urban Decay’s Gunmetal from the NAKED 1 palette and blended Illamasqua’s pure pigment in Alluvium over the top. I went for a strong cat flick using my Soap and Glory SUPERCAT eyeliner. Finally I finished the look with a pair of eyelure lashes and YSL Volume Effect Mascara.
For my face I went for M.A.C. Studio Scuplt in NW20, contoured with NARS Laguna, highlighted with a little of the Illamasqua Beguile and used NARS Orgasm blush. My lips were a mix of Mirenesse Glossy Kiss in Perfect Kiss, Too Faced Hello Dolly nude lipstick and M.A.C. Lipgelle in Bubble Lounge. Not bad for a first attempt me-thinks. I just need to find a sparkly catsuit and get that spiral curl down and I’m all good to goooooooooo!
I have heard you can get amazing curls using Doll Twiddle sticks £19.99 so I might just have to give them a go…click the picture for the link people :O)
