Under the Spotlight – Tom Ford Nude Vanille Lip Color

Whilst listening to Jay Z’s Tom Ford… on the way home from work yesterday it occurred to me that I have yet to review one of my most prized Christmas presents. I was lucky enough to be gifted Tom Ford’s Nude Vanille Lip Color by my lovely Ché. All wrapped beautifully in a gorgeous Tom Ford bag it really made quite the statement under the Christmas tree!

Upon taking it out of it’s little box I marvelled at the beautiful chunky gold on almost black/burgundy packaging. On top there’s even a reflective gold plated square embossed with the TF logo…perfect for sneaky touch ups. I loved it before I even removed the lid…and I thought it could never get better than Chanel’s intertwining C’s!

Upon taking the lid off the smell is beaut…just like buttaaaaaah…ummmmmm fit!

The actual colour looks to be a pinky salmon. After applying it to my lips I was very impressed with how creamy the actual lipstick is. It’s so creamy it goes on very thick and needs blending out…no need for a second coat. I find it looks much neater when applied with my Too Faced Perfect Nude lip pencil…review coming soon.

As you can see from the swatch this lipstick is very close to my skin tone. It’s not a high impact colour, if you want that you’re better going for Scarlet Rogue or Cherry Lush. Instead this is the perfect version of my own lip colour. When I feel like I need a bit more than the au natrel look, I zhuzh it up with some M.A.C. Dazzleglass.

Now the only draw back with this lipstick is the price tag. Coming in at £36.00 it really is a luxury item that will leave you wanting the whole collection…you have been warned!

PEACE & LOVE
