Oh yeah it’s that time of year that the red carpets are unrolled and couture dresses are donned all in the name of awards season. That’s right the Golden Globes took place tonight and needless to say the red carpet was full of show stopping dresses.
The bright colors were definitely on parade tonight with the ‘it’ colour of the evening being red. Other themes seemed to be colour blocking, turquoise accessories and plunging necklines. Lets have a little look.
First up how about a bit of colour blocking…
Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung
Aubrey Plaza in Oscar De La Renta
As always red was a huge theme…
Taylor Swift in Carolina Herrera
Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren
Amy Adams in Valentino
Rocking the turquoise accessories…
Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen
Bright is beautiful
Nancy O’Dell in Marchesa
Maria Menounos in BCBG Max Azria One of my fave dresses of the night!
Phew…there were so many amazing dresses it’s pretty hard to narrow down my best dressed list. I have however narrowed it down to three.
Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad – I love the fluid metal like flow of this beautiful fabric. The way it fits Kate so perfectly showcases Zuhair Murad’s execution of this fishtail design perfectly. Kate kept it simple with just a pair of diamond studs and a box clutch. I’m loving the swept up hair and natural make up…perfection.
Sarah Hyland in Georges Hobieka Couture – This understated yet beautiful dress really speaks for itself. That’s why I’m glad Sarah kept her hair and make up natural.Sarah too opted to keep her accessories minimal…a common theme tonight.
So finally it’s time for my best dressed and my top pick is…
Mila Kunis in Emilio Pucci – what can I say….? Mila looks incredible in this flowing yet perfectly fitted dress by Emilo Pucci. With only a silver bangle and emerald studs Mila made the right choice keeping her accessories simple. With that pulled back hair and signature smokey eye she could do no wrong tonight.
OK so I hate to pick a worst a dressed but not everyone can get it right…right?! My picks for worst dressed are…
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior – Oh Jennifer…how can Dior go so wrong? Now for some of you this may be a controversial choice but for me her overdone make up, plasticy looking clutch and gaudy bracelets spoilt what could have been a show stopping look! I’m so gutted because I love her!
Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung – oh Zoe I’m so sorry but what in the what? I know the 90’s are making a come back but not like this…and those shoes are too big for you. Credit where it’s due though the hair and make up is beautiful, especially the orange-y red lippstick which is bang on trend!
So that’s my round up of my best and worst Globe dresses what about you guys, what were your stand out outfits?
PEACE & LOVE
