Dinner for 10, plus a smoky eye…or two!

So yesterday myself and the other half threw a dinner party for 8 of our lovely friends. All in all it was a brilliant evening, made fabulous by great company and great food…even if I do say so myself!

FOTD: For my make up I went for a dramatic smoky eye and a berry lip. Now I’ve always lived by the rule you do either eyes or lips, never both. Kinda like the cleavage or leg rule my Mother taught me…”Sonya you do one or the other, never both…you have to keep it classy!” Now I’m not not rescinding on the latter rule…my Mother would kill me. The first one however eyes or lips seems to be no longer applicable. Everywhere I look lately it’s all about poker straight hair, beautifully dramatic eyes and vamp lips…be rude not to give it go.

After a few fabulous hours it was obviously time for a little make up retouch…what else would you expect at one of my dinner parties? Whilst I was re-touching my own make up I was sat chatting with my friend Lindsey who by the way has an amazing salon and make up service, check her out if you’re up North. As you do we were putting the world to rights on everything beauty related. This led to Lindsey informing me she wanted me to re-do her make up and give her a smokey eye…queue me crapping myself at the thought of doing a make up artists make up! I decided on a Mila Kunis looking smokey eye which looks amaze with Lindsey’s colouring. I used the NAKED palette for all the colours and Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide on liner. If you want the same look you can achieve something similar here by following Tanya Burr’s tutorial.
