December Glossybox

Some of you may have seen my Glossybox review from last month. If you missed it I had decided the people over at Glossybox had one more chance to impress me before I cancelled my subscription. After a few months of mediocre boxes I have been getting a bit disillusioned with the whole beauty box scheme.

This month it was as if the peeps over at Glossy had read my review and knew they were on their last chance. This months box is the best I have ever received. Whilst I was ill last week I kept thinking that I must call in the shops when I’m better and get; a nice true red nail varnish, a new razor and nude lip gloss. I also wanted to try the new Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Smokey Eyes Mascara.

I was overjoyed when I opened it up and all four of the items on my shopping list were nestled nicely in  the lovely box along with a lovely shower gel. I will definitely be keeping my subscription going in the hope that Glossybox keep their standards this high.

So how about a little review?

The Box

This months box is just stunning. A beautiful red with a Christmas tree made of beauty products, is there any better kind? Upon removing the lid all the goodies were nestled on green shredded paper and covered with tissue paper that had candy canes printed on it. It was all the tied up with a lovely ribbon.

The Products

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor –  I do like these razors and the fact that they are all in one so no need for shaving foam. They are also quite moisturising. My only grumble is that they don’t shave low enough so the hair grows back quite quickly. I think putting a razor in the box is a great idea because we all need one and it’s great to try new ones out!

Dr Bronner Baby- Mild Liquid Soap – This looks really nice and like it would be kind to sensitive skin. However as it is unfragranced I don’t think I’ll be moving over from my Soap & Glory or Aveeno.

Volum’ Express Colossal Smokey Eyes Mascara – I have been looking forward to trying this mascara for quite a while. It promises to make your lashes voluminous without clumping. I’ve been hearing great things so I’m going to put it to the test properly and pop a review up soon.

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics – Nude Lip Gloss – This is a lovely rich lip gloss with quite a nice neutral colour that’ll look good on a lot of skin tones. I’m looking forward to wearing it out and about and if it has staying power I’ll definitely be repurchasing. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Seche – Seche Nail Lacquer – This is where it gets even better. This nail polish is fantastic. The colour is amazing, it goes on perfectly with one coat and doesn’t chip. In fact it is one of the best wearing nail polishes I have ever used, beaten only by Illamasqua polishes. I will definitely be looking at what other colours are in the range.

Overall this months box is great value for money, especially as four out of five of the products were already on my shopping list. Great job Glossybox  you really provided us all the basics we’ll need for party season!
